Saeco Royal Office: Descale Coffee Machine

How to descale the Saeco Royal Office coffee machine.

Tools needed: Descaling solution, bowl / container

Preliminary Step

The Saeco Royal Office coffee machine must be descaled periodically, depending on the water hardness, latest after 3 to 4 months. As soon as “Descaling” appears in the display, a new descaling process must be started. This takes approx. 45 minutes.

Step 1

Let the coffee machine cool down in case it was in operation before.

Step 2

While the machine is still switched on, press the keys “˄ ˅” to navigate the star to the menu “DESCALING”. Confirm the selection with the “E” (Enter) key, which is confirmed by the message “DESCALING”. – By pressing the “C” (Cancel) key, the descaling process can be exited.

Step 3

Fill the water tank with fresh water and add the descaling solution according to the instructions. Put back the water tank. Place a sufficiently large bowl (1.5 liters / 50 oz) under the hot water dispensing pipe.

Step 4

Press the “˅” (hot water) button to start the descaling program. This process takes approximately 45 minutes. Do not change the settings during descaling process.

Step 5

The message “MACHINE IS DESCALING” appears in the display during the descaling process. In the meantime, different amounts of the descaler is withdrawn and discharged through the coffee dispenser.

Step 6

After approximately 45 minutes the display shows “DESCALING FINISHED“. Confirm the message by pressing the “E” (Enter) key.

Step 7

The message “RINSE MACHINE” and “FILL WATERTANK” appears in the display. Remove the water tank, rinse it briefly and fill it with fresh water. Put back the water tank.

Step 8

Start the rinsing process by pressing the “E” (Enter) key. The entire content of the water tank is used for rinsing.

Step 9

The message “RINSING FINISHED” appears in the display. Confirm the message by pressing the “E” (Enter) key and return to the main menu.
